News about the dispute between Automattic, led by Matt Mullenweg and WP Engine seems to be calming down after the initial storm, while life goes on as we await a final court ruling. Meanwhile, WordPress core updates continue as usual and now version 6.7 arrives with several interesting new features, although nothing really groundbreaking.
It’s always helpful to start this type of update with a video from Jamie Marshland, who usually summarizes WordPress updates in short, clear, and concise videos:
Perhaps the most notable feature in this release is the new Twenty Twenty-Five theme, an official theme you can use as a base for building a customized site. This theme takes advantage of the new typography and color options, as well as the speed improvements introduced in WordPress 6.7 to enhance its performance.
Other new features include a complete view of your pages and designs with a feature called Zoom Out.
Additionally, there’s a new option to connect blocks and custom fields easily and without code, which seems quite interesting. For more details, you can check out this other official page.
Of course, we must thank the approximately 750 contributors who made the release of WordPress 6.7 possible, allowing us all to enjoy these improvements on platforms like CMS MAG, which also uses WordPress. Thank you!
