On November 30, 2022, OpenAI’s ChatGPT was launched, the first major generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot. It literally blew our minds from the very first moment despite its hallucinations and AI generated images of people with 6 fingers. A lot has happened since then, AI has improved greatly and it has also begun to be perfectly integrated into most CMS.

Claude Mythos is no hype: it finds disturbing numbers of vulnerabilities

Anthropic’s Glasswing project is proving to be a huge success. This project has made its cybersecurity technology Claude Mythos available on a preliminary basis to some companies and the result is that 10,000 high or critical severity vulnerabilities have already been detected. This makes it clear that the power of Claude Mythos was not hot air, as it is indeed finding a large number of security holes, faster and better than humans.
(more…)WordPress 7.0 arrives with several improvements, but an important one was left out

WordPress 7.0 is now available and can be downloaded for free. Perhaps the most important part of this update is that it lays the groundwork for artificial intelligence (AI) plugins to connect with whichever AI each person sees fit to contract.
(more…)GfK DAM data on AI in Spain shows a bleak future for the open web

GfK DAM, the measurement provider recommended by the industry, invited a group of journalists to review the impact of generative AI and chatbots in Spain using data from its digital measurement. The data could not be clearer and shows that users still want to stay informed, but not so much through the media outlets themselves. And unfortunately, the bad news does not end here…

Open source CMSs have been under a lot of pressure lately, mainly due to artificial intelligence (AI). In the end, this never happens.
(more…)CMS market data: WordPress continues to bleed in April 2026

We have received the CMS market data for April 2026, according to data from the W3Techs website, which indicates that these are not good times for WordPress. It remains the undisputed king, far ahead of the rest, but the trend is increasingly negative and this month it is becoming more pronounced, as can be seen in the following table.
(more…)AI Overviews are unbearable

I have spent some time denouncing Google’s excesses in Google Search, specifically those created with AI Overviews, which are already causing so many layoffs and media outlet closures all over the world. It is obvious to everyone that Google is a de facto monopoly that finally has a decent competitor (OpenAI and Anthropic afterwards) and perhaps that is why it is acting in a rather reprehensible way. In this context, I sometimes come across some AI Overviews that are quite outrageous.

Schibsted has had the excellent idea of making its new tool Videofy available to everyone and to the news media. It automatically turns text articles into publish ready news videos in just a few minutes.
(more…)Can AI do away with CMSs?

Artificial intelligence (AI), despite how mind blowing it is among other drawbacks, is sweeping through everything. At CMS MAG, we have already spoken at length about its implications and how it is going to transform content management systems (CMSs) into something entirely new and surely more powerful, usable and friendly for people with little knowledge.
