We are going to update the global CMS market share data. Month to month there is usually little difference, so it is better to analyze trends. WordPress (WP) remains the clear king of the Internet with 43.2% usage and more than 60% market share, but in this last figure it drops 0.2% month over month.
These are the October CMS market figures on the Web according to w3techs.

| 3. | Wix | 4.1% | 5.7% | ||
| 4. | Squarespace | 2.4% | 3.4% | ||
| 5. | Joomla | 1.4% | 1.9% | -0.1% | |

Last month WP also fell by one tenth and if we look at data from the same month last year its usage was at 43.5% and market share at 62.5%, so it is clear there is a downward trend for a CMS that until recently grew exponentially and seems to have found its ceiling.
As for October, stability rules except in the case of Shopify which gains 0.1% usage and Joomla which loses the same amount. Both figures are also consistent with the market trend of both CMS.
For a year over year comparison these are the 2024 figures from the same source:
| ank | Content Management | Usage | Change | Market Share | Change |
| 1. | WordPress | 43.5% | 62.5% | -0.1% | |
| 2. | Shopify | 4.5% | 6.5% | ||
| 3. | Wix | 3.0% | +0.1% | 4.3% | +0.1% |
| 4. | Squarespace | 2.2% | +0.1% | 3.1% | |
| 5. | Joomla | 1.6% | 2.3% | -0.1% | |
| 6. | Drupal | 0.9% | 1.3% | ||
| 7. | Adobe Systems | 0.9% | 1.3% | ||
| 8. | Webflow | 0.8% | +0.1% | 1.1% | |

In the year over year comparison stability stands out in the top five positions, but mobility in the following ones. Adobe loses steam from seventh to ninth position with a clear decline, yet it remains noteworthy since it is a CMS that is not exactly cheap.
Prestashop and Google disappear from the top 10 and Drupal and Webflow decline, while new CMS enter strongly such as Tilda and Duda, especially the former which reaches the seventh position and surely deserves more in depth study by CMS MAG.
The year over year upward trend is for Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Tilda and Duda. The rest of the CMS, unfortunately for them, clearly show a downward trend that they are trying to reverse with new product versions such as Joomla, the integration of AI or new approaches closer to low or no code such as Drupal CMS.
